Welcome from Vice President Mike Berthelsen
Thank you for visiting the website for University Services at the University of Minnesota.
The departments and people in University Services provide the non-academic operations to the University of Minnesota on the Twin Cities campus and, for some services, system wide. We are responsible for creating and sustaining the physical environment and service culture that support and advances the teaching, research, and outreach missions of the University of Minnesota system. More simply, University Services is the people behind the scenes that help ensure the University functions effectively and efficiently each and every day. We shovel the snow, serve the food, patrol the streets, heat the buildings, renovate facilities, monitor lab safety, and house our students. As we like to say: We make the University work.
The six units in University Services – Auxiliary Services; Capital Project Management; Facilities Management; Planning, Space, and Real Estate; Public Safety; and University Health and Safety – are committed to providing efficient and effective services to our partners across the University. Our 3,400 employees are dedicated to the highest standards of excellence, integrity, accountability, and stewardship and take great pride in supporting one of the world’s most renowned public research universities.
Thank you once again for taking the time to learn more about University Services. Please don’t hesitate to contact our office if you have questions or need additional information.
