Sustainability and Corridor Planning
With their inherent complexities, corridor projects pose many challenges for planners and designers. At the same time, successful corridor development offers many rewards to those community members who benefit from improved mobility, economic growth, and sustainable development, as well as to those
planners and officials who are responsible for charting the corridor’s course and whose work results in healthier, more livable communities. This research, conducted by the State and Local Policy Program at the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, helps identify best practices in sustainable transportation corridor
development by analyzing a project’s governance, financing, economic impacts, design, and citizen participation processes.
