Non-Point Source Pollution
Substantial inputs of agricultural chemical and animal wastes are applied to croplands throughout Minnesota. Protecting water resources while maintaining acceptable agricultural production levels is important to farmers throughout the state, and several faculty members have been working on different aspects of agricultural impact on surface and subsurface water quality. This includes quantifying the mechanisms of non-point source pollution as well as developing
management practices that alleviate this pollution.
