Congratulations to the
2008 university services star performers

University Services honored the 2008 University Services Star Performers on November 6 at their Fall Leadership Forum.

Nine individuals and three groups were recognized for their Star Performances over the past year. The winners demonstrate the values of University Services each day and consistently go above and beyond in the performance of their duties.

This year, 44 individuals and ten groups were nominated for a Star Performer Award. Nominees represented all levels and departments within University Services and it was a pleasantly difficult task to choose Star Performers from this exceptional group. While not everyone could be selected, the fact that they were nominated shows that their work is appreciated by peers, customers and others in the University community.

Special thanks to the many people from throughout the University community who took the time to nominate a Star Performer. Your recognition of individuals and groups is certainly appreciated.

Who is a Star Performer?
University Services Star Performers are those people who demonstrate the values of University Services in the way they do their jobs. In University Services, our values are:

• Excellence in our products and services;
• Integrity in our actions with those we serve and with each other;
• Accountability in the value of our work;
• Stewardship of the University.

In addition, we look for Star Performers who demonstrate these criteria:

• Exceeding Expectations – Star Performers go above and beyond their day-to-day
  tasks. They pay attention to details, seek solutions to problems, and provide a high level of commitment when they perform their work.
• Customer Service – Star Performers take the time to understand the needs of students, staff, and visitors to the University and to meet their needs consistently and effectively.
• Initiative – Star Performers find innovative ways to save time, money, or other
  resources, either through new ideas or new ways to do ongoing tasks. They often
  act to solve a problem before it becomes a larger issue.
• Reliability – Star Performers demonstrate a consistency in getting the job done
  right, on time, the first time. Star Performers don’t let their customers – or their coworkers – down.
